Grannies 4YT and Silver Surfers Day

Posted in All posts, Help & Resources, Silver Surfers

Grannies 4YT is a group of three ladies living in Droitwich who have come together to produce videos recalling their memories. There videos have enjoyed over a thousand viewings to date but the ladies would like to see more. To this end it would be encouraging for all if those tutors/trainers involved with Silver Surfers day/week would consider using the Grannies 4YT as a demonstration of videoing to their clients. Next Tuesday I plan to post a short video made by the ladies wishing all Silver Surfers an enjoyable experience so it will be interesting to see how many hits the video achieves. Thank you and good luck with your Silver Surfer event.

    1. Hi Ray, great news. We’ve got a SSD YouTube channel going live next week with some other good stuff on it, so we can join it all up beautifully. The more inspiration the better.

    2. SSD youtube is go:

      http://www.youtube.com/silversurferstv

      link away

    3. That’s wonderful.

Is there a way that it could be linked with (some of) the other related SS videos by ‘ordinary’ people, into one long video that could be set to play continuously on a computer at an event?

You’ve probably thought of that already.

    4. Ray Bunnage Says:

      Hi Judith,

Not sure who this comment was aimed at but from the Grannies4YT angle it is possible to combine all the videos together but it would be a rather large file.

    5. Sorry Ray, as usual I’ve created confusion. I was replying to Emma’s post that the SilverSurfersTV video was up on YouTube. When I watched there were a number of related videos listed about ordinary people using computers in their lives (eg the cakemaker and the llama keeper. They looked like films made specially for DU, and I thought they would link well with the film made by the celebrities. They would be interesting for people to watch at an event, for instance, if they were waiting to have a go on a computer.
