We had a great time with 19 participants during the day, most of whom have never used a computer before. One lady mentioned that she was looking for a supplier of typewriter ribbons, and all the local suppliers could not help her. We showed her how to 'surf the net' and we found a supplier, complete with a freephone telephone number, and she went away very happy with the information she had found. She was also very impressed that it was so easy and fast to find the informaton she needed! Thanks to the staff for their great support and help when we had a few technical problems! The secret is to find simple ways for people to experience it and the SSD Events do just that, along of course with the benefit of a little friendly tuition to help people along the way.
