It's here! Nikki Fleming Silver Surfers (SS) day at Ryde Library, Isle of Wight

Posted in All posts, Events etc., Silver Surfers

Eagerly anticipating the arrival of our next group of Silver Surfers (has anybody got suggestions for a good collective noun?)

It’s always a buzz to open up the Internet world to the uninitiated!

Today we’ll be using’my guide’ (http://www.myguide.gov.uk) to demonstrate + practise email – this is an excellent site for beginners; but … we do have problems accessing it sometimes – can anybody out there recommend any other really good, free email providers, specially suitable for beginners?

Many of our past participants are now competent computer users and regular, frequent visitors to the library, where they can access our free-to-use computers and progress their skills in a welcoming atmosphere; most say that taking the first steps towards confident, enjoyable use of computers, via the SS sessions has changed their lives.

Must go … session about to start. Good luck and Happy SS day to all those involved in this life enhancing experience!

Nikki

    1. I like to use yahoo for mail and chat and also if you wish to exchange pictures or files it is very simple to do. Hope you are enjoying the computer as much as I do. I have made many many friends from all over the world since I began using the internet.

      Bernie in Cheshire.
